Unfinished When you have a great idea, but no talent.
It was not long after founding his company and hiring his first workers that Alan noticed he had absolutely nothing to contribute. He had no talents and the only good idea he ever had was already a success. Everything was running smoothly. The value of his company was rising steadily. All without him doing anything. He felt bad. He even started giving himself only minimum wage and distributing everything else to his employees. But he still felt bad. Everyone was working so hard to make his company a success and what was he doing? Just sitting around, trying to figure out a way how he could be useful.
[...]
They set up two standing desks next to the employee entrance and strapped him down on the floor between those desks. Everyone who arrived at the office had to now walk over Alan. And they all did. Some of them wiped their dirty shoes on his shirt some wiped them on his tongue. Even when everyone was already at the office he wouldn't be useless. He would be the floor for two of his 24/7 customer support agents at all times.
Everyone loved him. This was the least they could do for him. Make him feel useful by using him without hesitation for all the worst things they could come up with.
Finally he felt good.
